Upcoming Anchor Events: Progressive Dinner and New Series

Anchor will take a break over the Christmas and New Years’ holidays. We start up with a progressive dinner on Saturday, Jan 16 (meet at 6:30 in the church parking lot--Please RSVP here). We kick off our next series, “Rebel with a Cause: The Life of Jesus,” on Weds, Jan 20, 2010, at 6:30 pm. And if you haven't already, join our group on facebook. It's the best way to stay connected!

Evensong: Weds, Dec 9, at 7:30 pm

Join us for our third Evensong service on Weds, Dec 9, 7:30-8:30 pm in the St. Stephen's Sanctuary.

This Anglican service of Evening Prayer, weaves together our rich tradition of scripture, prayer, and song. The music is in a modern folk style, drawing from traditional hymns and newer Christian songs. The music this Wednesday will also include some treasured Christmas carols.

As always, the service is open to the entire church.

Free childcare is available in the nursery.

PS--Here is one of my favorite prayers (used in this service) from the Book of Common Prayer:

Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for your love's sake. Amen.

I Love Liz Lemon: TONIGHT (And note location change: Promise Land)

Join us for our second week of "I Love Liz Lemon: 30 Rock and Life's Big Questions." Dinner is pizza provided by Monte Cello's. $5 suggested donation to cover cost of the food.

As always, we meet from 6:30-8:30 pm, but tonight we have a venue change. Due to Christmas Pageant rehearsals at the church, we're moving to Promise Land. Enter the church through the doors by the parking lot, and head straight down the hall. Go through the double doors by the elevator and go downstairs. Promise Land is on your right as you turn the corner.

See you tonight!
